This section covers the bare minimum you need to have to start off your learning.

Component List

  1. Breadboard
  2. Assorted Resistor kits
    (ensure you have 470ohms)
  3. 9V Battery for power supply
  4. Battery connector
  5. Single strand wires (you get a set of multi color wires)
  6. Jumper cables (Female to female connectors)
  7. LEDs
  8. LM7805 - Voltage regulator for 5V
  9. Light dependent resistors - for light sensing applications
  10. LM35 - Temperature sensor.
  11. Potentiometers (0.1w min or 0.5w max)
  12. MAX232
  13. Five 1uF Capacitors

Toolkit

  1. Multimeter
  2. A magnifying glass (better with a light source on it)
  3. 4 or 4.5 inch mini long nose pliers

Programmable Components

  1. AVR - for e.g. ATMega32/ATmega16 or Arduino Kit
  2. A USB to serial adapter

Software

  1. [avrdude]
  2. avr-gcc (or gcc-avr, based on the distribution)
